Why do you have a space theme?

In some science fiction writing, exploring space can bring humanity (as a whole) together. Humanity moving into the unknown causes them to bond with a common purpose and identity. This is often romanticized in how the space race that happened in the mid-20th century in the United States is described (though the USA was just trying to beat their Cold War competitors). Whether the collective “coming together” of trying to do something new or the human reaction to discovering we are not alone in the universe, space, and science fiction often offer us hope for humanity.

Iteration.Coffee provides an opportunity for exploration. It carries some bizarre and incredible coffees for people to try, as well as providing comfortable classic styles of roasting and coffee flavor.

In addition to providing a means of exploration, I also strive for better ways of making coffee trade by dealing as directly as possible with the coffee producers and working with them instead of taking advantage of them. I will always strive to pay the coffee producers well, honor their contribution to the Specialty Coffee Industry, and be transparent about where I am buying my coffee.

Think of this as a “test-roastery…”

A “test roastery” pulls ideas from the culinary “test kitchen” and “learning kitchen.” Here, the goal is to search for new and exciting flavors in coffee, explore roast profiling, conduct research, and train coffee roasters. Basically, it’s a fully functioning coffee roastery designed around education and exploration. It is an Oregon Department of Agriculture certified food production facility that services the local Rainier, OR community and the world wide coffee roasting community via online orders delivered through USPS and DHL Express.
