SIGRI ESTATE
Cultivated Varieties - Papua New Guinea
Back to Sigri Estate with
For those of you who have been involved with me on the journey of Iteration.Coffee over the years… Benchmark Coffee Traders, Vikram, and Sigri Estate are all probably becoming familiar names. During my third boxed set I featured their Kula Peaberry, and their Maragogipe coffee (affectionately called “Big Red”) on my thirteenth set. Returning for my sixteenth boxed set, the focus will be slightly different. Instead of focusing on developing just one coffee… We’ll be exploring 3 different coffees from the same farm!
Vikram, and the owners of Sigri Estate have been kind enough to indulge my desire for exploration by separating coffees by variety and processing them as similarly as possible. The result will be an attempt to isolate differences in cultivar flavor profile and roasting approach. It is the beginning of the search for the answer to the impact of cultivars on flavor and what roasting approach may be the “best fit” for each type of coffee.
